I’m sorry, but for once I’m going to have to get all political as recent events have given me the jitters. Of course one of the biggest news stories right now is the arrest of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Personally I think this is a huge mistake that will have severe ramifications for the U.S. And for once I’m agreeing with Sarah Palin, this could actually lead to a civil war, or at least a serious insurrection in our country (unlike her though, I’m not advocating for it). Although I disagree with podcaster Joe Rogan that the U.S. has never been so divided (er how about The American Civil War and the 1960s), it is a particularly volatile period. And on another podcast I heard commentators say that “doomsday preppers” are off the mark in their predictions and that the status quo is fine. I don’t think that’s entirely true. Unless you have been living under the proverbial rock, you should at least be concerned about tumultuous recent events, from actions from the far left/Antifa like the CHAZ/CHOP in Seattle, WA and the bombing of the federal courthouse in Portland, OR

to the storming of the U.S. Capitol Building by the far right/Trump supporters.

And around the rest of the world of course with the terrible war in Ukraine and riots in France, etc. And with a relatively weak and inept U.S. President like Joe Biden “in charge” I think disaster literally looms around the corner. I initially thought the the U.S. supplying arms to the Ukrainians was a good idea, but amazingly presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. (son of Bobby Kennedy) on a recent podcast actually convinced me that it could be a bad idea, since it is prolonging the conflict and that the U.S. should really being in the forefront of ending the war by diplomatic means. And he did make the claim that the warhawks in the Cabinet are supporting the war because they think that it is weakening Russia. Wow, a presidential candidate that isn’t a total blithering idiot! I do disagree with with him on several issues though. He made the point that actually people who have been in war are usually the ones opposed to it because they truly understand the consequences, which is true. But his example of Eisenhower and Khrushchev in the summit meeting in 1959 and Khrushchev and (his uncle) JFK with the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 isn’t totally convincing because even though all three men were in WWII, Khrushchev still was pretty belligerent with the “we will bury you” speech, banging his shoe on the table at the U.N., etc. And if Khrushchev truly was a “man of peace” why did he have his political rival Beria executed and political protesters executed? And RFK Jr.’s assertion that it is up the Russian people to decide to remove Putin from office, I don’t think they have a choice. Obviously Putin is a total dictator and it is a total farce that he is “democratically elected”. And to be honest, RFK Jr. will never be elected as president because of his voice (he unfortunately suffers from a condition known as spasmodic dysphonia).
I honestly think that the idiots who are pursuing this latest legal action against Trump are seemingly unaware of the sh*tstorm they are probably going to be unleashing. The LA riots in 1992 are a very good demonstration of how fast civilization can break down when the sh*t really hits the fan.
