Magical Enchantment in a Northern City: Downtown Worcester Winter Festival 2025

February 1, 2025, we went to the Downtown Worcester Winter Festival.

It was an unworldly experience, a voyage to transcendent land, where time and space stand still for an instant and phantasms like the Winter Fairy make a rare appearance to us mere mortals.

As well as the WooSox Smiley Ball, a creature of vast compassion; a likable trickster.

Some of us ventured onto the icy waste to partake of this portion of Valhalla, like sprites dancing upon the very essence of eternity.

And they had bumper cars for the little ones! 🙂

And an “Alpine Slide” for the little ones and the bigger ones! 😊 I was going to do it but didn’t get the chance. Actually I used to enjoy a real alpine slide at Mount Tom in Springfield, MA but sadly that is no longer there. But there is one at the Lake Attitash Ski Resort in New Hampshire so I’ll have to check that out.

And we toasted marshmallows in the “fire tent.”

I’m admit it was cold and windy that day and there was no way I was taking my balaclava off, even for a group photo. And I’ll admit that the best part of the day was when we ate at the Ninety-Nine restaurant after the event and actually warmed up! But all in all a good fun day.👍
